Pillows as presents and in various looks!
Posted by Lena Kantis
My sister in law Michaela turned 50 today. We celebrated her during the weekend with a party. I did sew her a pillow, that does fit her perfectly. She liked it a lot!
Another project I have finished is a pillow that was almost finished. When we sew for the photo shoots, we do sometimes make half-ready samples, to be able to show certain steps how to sew or embroider. Well, now I found one that is from the Husqvarna Viking Designer Topaz 25, here are some pictures of how I finished it.
First I did cut it to the size I wanted, a rectangle shape. You can find the instruction
here.
Next, was to create the piping for the pillow. I did use the Single Welt cord Foot.
If you are going to iron on velvet, use a special board. It does look like spikes but are much smaller. Iron on the wrong side up.
On backside I did insert an invisible zipper than finished the construction. Here is the finished pillow.
I plan to get started with my Christmas sewing this week. I will share what I will make very soon!
Until next time, happy sewing!
