Sewing for the theater!
Posted by Lena Kantis
This kind of outfit is not something we wear today.Eva-Britt has been sewing it. It has got details that are very clever.
Today an outfit like this can probably only be found at theaters, the opera, or in museums and similar. It is a lot of knowledge on how to sew put into this sample. I will share a few small details below.
The front of the jacket.
The jacket is tightly fit, and has got pleats for the neckline, very unusual today. It does have piping, pintucks and lace. Find out how you can use the accessories for the details in our
accessory user´s guide.
At the back of the underskirt there are material added if the next person has got a wider waist than the person it was made for. It is possible to move the button an inch or a little bit more.
At the back of the skirt, there are several pleats added for the same purpose.
I am sewing some small samples in the sewing studio and have gotten a new sewing machine to try out, the
Husqvarna Viking Designer Ruby Royale. Very nice, I like it a lot. Here I am adding buttons for the eyes of my sample.
Hope you will have a nice weekend, and happy sewing until next week!
