Dress to wear on my summer vacation!

Posted by Lena Kantis
During the summer time it is great to be able to wear dresses and sandals! When I got a piece of fabric from one of my dear colleagues, Eva-Britt, I did immediately consider to sew a new dress. Below you can follow the steps of my sewing!

I started with it is a piece of jersey with a fun printed pattern. To make the most out of the fabric, I wanted specific prints to appear in certain parts of the dress. I made a plan and pinned the pattern pieces to the fabric. I was lucky and it was enough even though I spread out the pieces. The contruction was done of course done on the overlock. Very quick!

The edges were decorated with two different kinds of black knits. The one at the back is an ordinary light weight jersey, the one in the front is a knitted netting.

One was added behind the edge and the other in front. It did require some patience, but then I decided to use the temporarily adhesive spray and that did help.
I am happy with the result.

Here is the finished dress! I will were it in Greece where I will spend my vacation!

Happy Sewing!
