HUSQVARNA VIKING® DESIGNER DIAMOND™ update version 8666-6176 (June 7, 2011):
General
- New coloring of the graphical user interface.
- Three options for feeder (sew mode),’Auto’, ’Raised’, ’Lowered’.
- The color of the screen header bar can be changed.
- The start up screen is used as screen saver instead of black screen.
- ’Motor overloaded’ pop up indicates when machine can be started again.
- Included designs and fonts are moved to system disk. Eliminates the need to backup user saved files when updating.
- After successful saving of files a self closing notification pop up is shown.
- Permanent thread tension offset is now available in machine settings.
Sewing
- Thread tension controls now available directly in sew mode window.
- The shape of key hole buttonholes improved by changed stitch out order.
- A sequence with tapers can be saved, reloaded and stitched out including tapers (the tapers are however not shown on screen).
- Stitch icons for saved stitches now also show tapering.
- Stitch icons in the file manager window now also indicate the side position of the stitch.
Embroidery
- Undo/Redo function added in embroidery edit.
- Stitch out order of designs can now be changed.
- Possibility to enter the number of designs to use in shaping.
- More alignment options in Shaping.
- Possible to embroider a sequence with tapering.
- Buttonholes can be used in embroidery.
- Speed of stepping stitches in large designs increased.
- Rotation speed reduced in Design Positioning and Embroidery Edit.
- The Pan center button centers view over the hoop.
- Total embroidery time shown when using the monochrome feature.
- Cancel possibility added in ’Remove hoop pop up when moving to park position in embroidery.
- Possibility to move directly to bobbin change position from bobbin empty pop up in embroidery.
- A blue box surrounds an embroidery font text when it is a text and a red when it is a normal design.
- The grid setting in embroidery mode is now permanent.
- Special grid lines added for the texture hoop to mark center of ribbons.
- New button to show built in designs in explorer.
- Select RA and Sulky thread to be used when creating a text or changing a color block in embroidery.
- Support for hoop 180x100 E.

How to update with USB cable
If you have not yet installed the Embroidery Machine Communication, insert your Embroidery Machine Communication CD, (4D Organizer, 4D QuickFont) and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Click on the link below to download the update file. You need a file compression utility to open the file (WinZip or similar).
- Extract the .exe file to your desktop. Then double click on the .exe file from your desktop to start the Update Wizard. You may get Security Warnings. Click Run to continue.
- The DESIGNER DIAMOND™ Update Wizard will start. Follow the instructions on screen.
- When the update is complete your DESIGNER DIAMOND™ will automatically restart. Estimated time for the update is 8 minutes.

- Click on the link below to dowload the update file. You need a file compression utility to open the file (WinZip or similar).
- Extract the .exe file to your desktop. Then double click on the .exe file from your desktop to start the Update Wizard. You may get Security Warnings. Click Run to continue.
- The DESIGNER DIAMOND™ Update Wizard will start. Follow the instructions on screen and be sure to select "USB embroidery stick" as the update method.
- When the USB embroidery stick is prepared the Update Wizard will tell you to move it to your DESIGNER DIAMOND™, start the update and follow the instructions on the Interactive Screen.
- When the update is complete your DESIGNER DIAMOND™ will automatically restart. Estimated time for the update is 13 minutes.
