"La terre, la plus belle pour aller danser"

Ina Georgeta Statescu from France was awarded first price, a Husqvarna Viking Designer I, for her exclusive quilt “La terre, la plus belle pour aller danser”. The quilt is made of gold and silver materials and decorated with a great number of beads and spangles.

A piece of a dream
Keiko Ike from Japan was one of the four runners up from different continents that received a Husqvarna Viking Rose. Keiko calls her quilt “A piece of a dream”. Black waves, circles of silver threads, and confetti-like dots on a background of free motion embroidered fabric.
Shifting sands
Dianne Firth from Australia was also awarded second price for her “Shifting sands”. It is made from strips sewn together into this striking pattern.
Fragments de terre
Monica Pilote from Canada made “Fragments de terre”. It’s made of “earth fragments” and recycled materials, for example coffee filters, which have been worked with and sewn together into this beautiful quilt.

Tuulaa Makinen, Finland, created the quilt “Quilting unites us all over the world”.
