A lap quilt

Quilts don’t have to be big to serve a purpose. A lap quilt is cozy on chilly fall nights and cold winterdays. Perhaps this type of quilt is the most traditional of all: in olden days, the main purpose of a quilt was to warm and protect its owner. In contrast to purely decorative quilts, lap quilts often have intermediate layers of a thicker, warmer material.
