Ribbon with Decorative Stitches on OPAL™ 650 / 670
Use your decorative stitches to embellish ribbons for the Holiday. Use them for gift wrapping, wreaths or other projects. Our ribbons are decorated using the OPAL™ 650/670 but this can be done on any sewing machine with decorative stitches

You need:
  • Ribbon of your choice, we used a ribbon approx. 1½” (4cm) wide.
  • Decorative thread, 40wt rayon
  • INSPIRA® Stabilizer, Tear-a-Way or water soluble

Ribbon 1

Sew:
  • Create a program with stitch 4:14 and 4:18 (OPAL™ 650), 4:20 and 4:22 (OPAL™ 670)
  • Sew with decorative thread on top and a light weight bobbin thread in the bobbin.
  • Always use a stabilizer underneath your ribbon when you sew decorative stitches. It makes the stitch feed evenly, eliminating the risk of pulling or distorted stitches.
  • If both sides of the ribbon will be visible, use a water soluble stabilizer and rinse it off.

Ribbon 2
Sew:
  • Select stitch 39 (OPAL™ 650), stitch 48 (OPAL™ 670)
  • Sew with decorative thread on top and a light weight bobbin thread in the bobbin.
  • Always use a stabilizer underneath your ribbon when you sew decorative stitches. It makes the stitch feed evenly, eliminating the risk of pulling or distorted stitches.
  • If both sides of the ribbon will be visible, use a water soluble stabilizer and rinse it off.
