  • Foot of the Month Club

In February this year we launched a Foot of the Month Club in conjunction with our local retailers* in Australia.

All the classes have been created from our very own talent pool of Australian educators, making projects current and contemporary, and most importantly pertaining to the Australian culture!

The program will have you making a different project featuring different Husqvarna Viking feet each month in your local retailer’s store. Over 10 feet and accessories will be used, giving you a wide range of experience and the ability to be guided while trying something to give you professional sewing and embroidery results.

    • Ruffler Foot
    • Quilt Binder Attachment
    • Interchangable Dual Feed Foot
    • Roller Foot
    • 3 & 7 Hole Yarn/Cord Feet
    • Ruler Foot
    • Metal Hoops
    • 3, 5, 7, 9 Groove Pintuck Feet
    • Spanish Hemstitching Feet
    • Yarn Embellishment Kit
Each month you will make a fantastic finished project to walk away with, including a lipstick case (February), a ruffled baby quilt (March), a multi pocket bad (April), a mobile phone case (May) and many more! All of the projects feature an Husqvarna Viking Accessory, giving you hands on practice to get to know your machine and all its features.

  • Introducing our new Blogger... The Tall Mama

I learnt to sew in High School Textiles & Design classes and have taught myself since then.  One of the things I love most about sewing is that there is always something new to learn.

Being 183cm tall sewing my own clothes allows me to make clothes which actually fit my frame. The struggle to find clothing which fits well isn't unique to being tall, the majority of women don't fit into the "average" sizes offered in the shops. Making my own clothes ensures I have a closet full of clothes that fit well and that I love.

As a Mama, nothing brings me more joy than making clothes for my girls. It has opened up a whole new world of bright colours and prints to sew with. I hope to teach my girls the value of handmade items and to pass on my love of sewing.

I always strive to buy and use ethically made fabrics. With the prevalence of fast fashion, the quality of fabrics has declined. As we spend many hours and much love on our makes, we should use quality fabric that will last!

Our online sewing community is such a supportive and encouraging one. I started my blog with the hopes of "giving back" to the sewing community I learn so much from.  I document my fails and wins, which is reflective of everyones sewing experience. As much as we want it to, not everything works out!  I hope to inspire others to go beyond their sewing comfort zone, because we learn so much when we push ourselves.

I am so excited to partner with Husquvarna Viking! By using a machine with greater capabilities (the Designer Jade 35), it will allow me to expand my skills and creativity. 2018 is going to be a great sewing year!

This cushion gives pain relief and protection from accidental bumps, with the butterfly design making the perfect shape. These cushions can also be placed between the breast and a seatbelt strap or cuddled to the chest for comfort or again protection from bumps.
